Fire pumps have different functions that are used for daily needs. We can list the materials required in fire pumps and the purpose of fire pumps as follows:

  • 1 electric motor pump, diesel engine backup pump of the same capacity, instead of the diesel engine backup pump; 3 extra pumps are also selected to backup half of the capacity. At the same time, 1 more pump should be kept in case of leakage. If there is a generator that can run the pumps used for firefighting, the backup electric motor pump can be selected the same as the main pump.
  • The discharge pressure of the pump should not exceed 140% of the rated pressure. If the required capacity for fire fighting is 200 m3/h and 100 mss, the closed valve pressure in the selected pump should not exceed 280 mss and the curve of the fire pump should be parallel to the horizontal axis as much as possible.
  • The pump should be sized to operate at 1.5 times its rated flow. At the same time, the pump pressure should not be less than 65% of the rated pressure.
  • For sealing; 5 rows of soft seals should be used. The reason for this is; even if the seals are damaged, they can continue to work due to their soft feature.
  • For pumps used for fire fighting; each pump must have a separate control panel.

Fire Pump Prices

Pump sets used in fire fighting include fire pumps consisting of several electric motor driven pumps and 1 auxiliary pump, and fire pumps consisting of 2 main electric motor and diesel driven pumps and 1 auxiliary pump acting as a jockey.

Both fire pumps have a different operating system, so the following items may also be required:

  • Electric motor driven main pump system,
  • Diesel engine driven main pump system,
  • 1 auxiliary electric motor driven pump system,
  • Pump control panels selected and implemented for main pumps,
  • Sound and light alarm devices,
  • The necessary equipment for building integration.
